Saturday, October 27, 5-10 pm
Commonplace Coffee Headquarters
1004 Washington Blvd
Pittsburgh, PA 15206
The closing party will kick-off at 5pm with a presentation on the “Science of Coffee” by Evonne Baldauff, Chairperson for the Chemistry and Forensic Science Department and Associate Professor of Chemistry at Waynesburg University. Coincidently PSCW overlaps with National Chemistry Week, and this presentation will offer a unique look at a blend of the two disciplines. Evonne’s 20-minute presentation will discuss the chemical makeup of brewed coffee and how it changes in the two weeks post-roast. Great for coffee professionals and enthusiasts alike!
Following the presentation, join us for a party culminating another successful Pittsburgh Specialty Coffee Week. Enjoy global street food eats from Blue Sparrow, great music, and tasty drinks, while learning more about roasting, preparing, and consuming specialty coffee. All attendees will also be entered into a raffle to win great home brewing equipment with additional raffle entry sales benefitting Lending Hearts. This event is free and open to the public. Parking instructions noted below.
